VENUS II

Treated Plaster. 2003

Venus II is  in the Minimalist Style.  I was doing a fertility series at uni,

where this particular study came into play for a sculpture. I was reading up on the Venus of Willendorf,

where I was inspired to make the Modern Venus, of which is titled ‘Venus II’.

She is uncomplicated, compact, smooth facade, and sturdy.

Sculptures by Anna Boros.

Various treatments to plaster. These particular sculptures created 2002-2005

Like graveyard headstones, these plaster sculptures stand still in the face of time.

DECORATED BOTTLE

Hand painted, mirror and strengthened plaster bottle. 1998

I used to like doing small projects like this, as you can find out what

can be mixed with what sort of medium.

NIGHT LIGHT SERIES: ABSTRACT 1998

Mixed Media/ Abstract/ Sculpture. 1998

This work is made of poster paints, acrylic paint, beads,

and other embellishments, reflective paper, and glass.

I wanted a large colourful abstract for the lounge room, and came up with this.
No really firm concept, nor philosophy associated with it. Just pretty, and colourful.

WALL MOSAICS AND STAINED GLASS WINDOW DECORATION.

Smashed mirror mural mosaics and decorated stained glass window. Circa 1998.

When I did the large lounge room, a kitchen, a dining room, a foyer entrance, and a long hallway with mosaics like this,

it can take quite some time to complete- yes a couple of years almost. The concept for this was about bringing space into enclosed spaces. To bring light into darkness.

To invite colour through friends wearing colour and being colourful in nature into the mundane of an off white installation base, It was also about Reflection, and being able to have the stimulation around me through this work, to be able to reflect within. Here then, is my sanctity of sacred space-: The Light,  The Colour , The Space To Just Be, and the reflection of Past, Present, and Future.
