Cats In My Loungeroom. Completed 8 December 2022

A rather whimsical work, though the truth of the matter is that I have had 13 cats in my loungeroom, though quite some years ago. I used to rescue cats, but I do not do it on such a large scale these days. Unfortunately, people in my area who were renting that could not afford to rent anymore, left their animals behind for other people to take care of the homeless. Its quite the disgusting part about human nature isn’t it, right?

I Love Meow

I Love Meow. 1st Jan2022. ink on 220gsm on acid free card. A3 in size.

I Love Meow is a whimsical piece done in the cartoon style. As you can see, the work is drawn about an old cat lady who loves her 4 cats. The page has many banners saying the title of the work in glyphs- just like a little coded message.
There are many different types of pots scattered around this world. Pots off fur, cat poo smells, whiskers, playtime, pat cats pats, purrs, fur balls, cat scratches, claw stabs, whiskers, and above all, love. The 4 cats all have something to say which are so typical of cats being their own unique personalities. Reading them you will be heartened.
This small collection of in situs below can give you an idea of where the original can be placed and also where a large print of the work can be utilised as well. Original A3. Prints from A4 to poster size.

I enjoy using cartooning to come up with colourful, sometimes childish, artwork. Some cartooning is necessary for a particular concept etc, but drawing these can be so soothing for me, because i can just let go and doodle away- like this one. Serious thought can be used for my more serious works, but i do believe joy can be passed on with the almost silliness and wonder of these particular types of works.

In a smaller area which can draw a person in to read it.

A large poster print in a larger setting which a couple or more diners can use as a conversation piece. Or, a large print could quite well modernise and brighten a child’s room.

You Wanted More Cats.

You Wanted More Cats. 30 December 2021.

Just before the end of a passing year, I endeavour to keep to a tradition of making a drawing before the year goes out . Sometimes, it is not possible, but this time it was, and it is probably because most of us are at home having a quiet time in, not venturing out for parties so much, due to the new Omicron Virus. So before I entered into 2022, I drew this A3 sized work as something amusing to bide the time away. I do like a few easier works before I set out on a major work again. The inspiration for this was that recently, a fellow artist told me that ‘ You do love your cats’ due to me having quite a few drawings and some paintings of them. So I had a giggle, and called the bluff, and did this particular drawing of which another was added in 2022 titled ‘ I Love Meow’ in the January 2022.

This original is an A3 size on 220 GSM Acid Free Card. Drawn Comic style in ink outlining, and Derwent coloured pencils which gives it a ‘young feel’ about it. The texture in the work is made obvious for this reason. I guess it could go well, enlarged for a children’s room, or just a fun animal lovers abode.
It is colourful and some of the individual cat drawings are quite funny: ie. The drooling kitty, the anime kitty, the toothy kitty, and so on.

You Wanted More Cats. Original A3 in size, but can be enlarged to a similar sized poster sized print as shown below.
