A TIME TO WEEP AND A TIME TO LAUGH. 2012

A Time To Weep, and a Time To Laugh. 25.June 2012. Ink on Acid free card.

” To everything there is a season……” and that is what this is about- ‘that there is nothing new

under the sun’, so it is said. The drawing is based on the  book Ecclesiastes(c. 935 BCE), Chapter 3 vs 1-8.
An interesting biblical book, speaking of ‘The Son Of David’s thoughts about life. It is an interesting

work that even talks about the timing in the Heavens. Astrology and Astronomy and

Religion were once part of the same discipline.

VISIT

When someone comes to visit, I treat them like they are special.

A special person inspired my drawing this.

VASE AND FLOWERS

ink on acid- free paper. 26th April 2011

Sometimes the most simple line drawings can be quite simple in their effect on us,

lending itself to a visual and a feeling, that is easy, and comfortable.

50’s UNITE

Drawing on acid free card, then digitally enhanced with visual graphic embellishments.

10th October, 2010

This work was advertised in, and made for a leading Art magazine to advertise for over 50’s artists to become a co operative in venturing with group projects.

Unfortunately, most were busy with grandchildren, and the verve that was needed to reinforce

this practical concept was greatly hindered by this fact. Fortunately though, I realised that not everyone my age

still gets buzzed by the thought of art making!

SELF PORTRAIT EXORCISM

Pastel on canvas. Very large canvas approx. 1 metre x 1 metre.

This is another conceptual piece regarding the constant self evolution we go through,

using props and masks for a guise while we metamorphosise into a changed and altered human being- forever evolving.

EGGS ANYONE?

Pencil drawing on acid-free card. 18th August, 2009

Here is another drawing in 2009 that I did at the Design Course at the TAFE College in Kingswood, NSW.

Here we see a drawing of a drawing of a bowl of eggs and a hand reaching below the bowl

as if coming through the paper drawing to grab an egg. Beside the drawing is a pair of

spectacles resting on the edge of the drawing book, with an overlapping pair of small

feathers in the right hand lower corner.A hand is close by to the left of the drawing of the drawing.

(I hope you just understood all of that! )
